The most shocking detail about Aldo’s loafer sneakers are their featherlight feel. Even with the chunky sole, it feels like I am walking barefoot. And don’t even get me started about the buttery smooth heel and insole — it’s like walking on pillows. I’m also chronically in a rush, whether it’s to make a train or meet friends on time, which is where the slip-on design comes in handy.

My wide feet make it challenging to find shoes that don’t pinch and cause my bunions to hurt, but the loafer’s roomy toebox allows my feet to spread fully. I can even wear the shoes with a pair of thick socks, making them ideal year-round. The arch support is very apparent, too. This is thanks to the brand’s cushy sock foam that’s on the ball of the foot and heel area for extra comfort and stability.

Another detail that left me speechless was the very waterproof material. My first time wearing the loafers, I got stuck in a torrential downpour with no umbrella. While my legs were soaking wet, my feet remained dry — so I avoided a sad walk in wet socks. 

The loafers are easy to style with casual and work attire — even with its sneaker details along the sole and upper part of the shoe. I’ve paired them with wide-leg jeans for dinner with my family, as well as tailored trousers.
