Since joining team 3006, Naomi’s character Indie has been involved in plenty of drama, but boss Jan Jennings (Di Botcher) often recognises her big heart and how she usually tries to do the right thing.
Indie also recently became involved in a romance with nurse Cam Mickelthwaite, played by Bradley Walsh’s son Barney Walsh.
Long-running medical drama Casualty first began in 1986 and is a Saturday night staple, and at present, the show is airing a miniseries titled Learning Curve, with two episodes remaining.
Earlier this year, The Traitors fans spotted a former contestant pop up in a Casualty episode.
Maddy Smedley – who appeared in the first ever series of the BBC murder mystery show – featured in the medical drama’s first episode of 2026.
She portrayed a patient who sustained severe burns after falling asleep in the sun.
Announcing the role on X Maddy said: ‘Meet Bethany Chimes tonight on Casualty at 8:45pm BBC 1 or on iplayer now – she’s addicted to a sun tan cos she’s lonely.

‘Sad story really and hope it raises awareness of melanoma and how bad the sun can really be. @bbccasualtyofficial #casualty love working again at casualty x.’
Many watching the episode this week were quick to notice that it was Maddy as one penned on X: ‘Maddy from #TheTraitors on #Casualty!’,
Another added: ‘Good to see Maddy in #casualty from series 1 #TraitorsUK #traitors @the_traitors_’,
A third said: ‘As if I’m watching it now and I said to my friend ‘IS THAT MADDY OFF THE TRAITORS’ how fun to see you girlie.’
Maddy was a big star of series one as she was one of the few Faithfuls to correctly suspect Wilf Webster of being a Traitor.
However, she was sadly banished in the penultimate episode before being able to see her theory proven right.
Since she has found further fame on soaps and other TV shows – playing the role of Faye Fuller in Hollyoaks, Sally in Big Boys and Dilys Shaughnessy in two episodes of Call the Midwife.
