Cameron Diaz is revealing her very relatable “ick” when it comes to home etiquette — especially for those visiting her New York City abode.

The actress, 53, was prompted to open up about the topic with her friend Drew Barrymore during a Friday, April 10 appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. Diaz appeared on the talk show alongside her Outcome costars Keanu Reeves,  Matt Bomer and Jonah Hill, who also directs the new Apple TV comedy.

During the show's “Drew's Qs” segment, Diaz was asked about her “biggest ick.” After pausing a moment, the star took a deep breath and said, “Shoes from the street in New York City,” which prompts a passionate reaction from Barrymore as Hill bursts into laughter.

“You cannot,” the 50 First Dates star jokes. “If you want to go into her house, put a body condom on.”

With a laugh, Diaz agrees: “You have to change your clothes to come into my house in New York.”

“It's true, and her house has no germs in it because of it,” Barrymore adds, followed by Diaz noting, “Yeah, I roll around on my floors. It's okay.”

While chatting with PEOPLE about Outcome ahead of its April 10 premiere, Diaz also reflected on her 30-year acting career, which began with her movie debut in the 1994 film The Mask opposite Jim Carrey.

"It's a journey. I think it's different for everybody. It's been 30 some odd years," Diaz told PEOPLE in an exclusive interview published on Thursday, April 9.

She continued, "You kinda sit in, just like an old saddle, you know? It's like you've galloped in it, you've trotted in it, you've walked in it, and you kind of settle into it and find your rhythm. That's just kind of how it works. It's hard to explain, you know?"

Of her new film, Diaz said it's a “cautionary” tale of some of the consequences that come with fame.

"I also think that this movie shows [fame] in a very interesting light and a very heightened light," she adds. "Everybody thinks they want to be famous, but there is a cost to it. So it's a cautionary comedy."
