Valerie Bertinelli navigates heartbreak, healing and the possibility of love again in the first trailer for Love, Again.
PEOPLE has an exclusive first look at the Lifetime Original Movie, in which Bertinelli stars as Caroline, a woman grappling with the devastating effects of her husband Henry’s early-onset Alzheimer’s diagnosis.
The trailer opens with Caroline’s growing concern, as she admits, “Henry is getting so much worse. Nurses won’t come anymore. He gets so angry.”
Viewers are then introduced to Henry (Henry Czerny), who appears disoriented in a hospital setting, asking, “Am I suppose to be here?”
“This movie is so moving and full of heart,” Bertinelli says in the trailer of the project. Her costar Eric McCormack echoes that sentiment, adding, “People will relate to the characters to be real,” while Czerny says he hopes the story offers comfort: “I feel we’ll help a lot of people who are going through this feel they are not alone.”

As Caroline struggles to cope with her husband slowly slipping away, she’s reminded by a friend that it’s okay to lean on others. “It’s not wrong for you to have someone to lean on,” one character tells her.
In one of the trailer’s most emotional moments, Caroline tearfully confesses to Leo (McCormack), “I love my husband. He is looking for clues on who he is. And he doesn’t remember.” The scene crescendos as she breaks down in her kitchen, shattering glass and collapsing to the floor in grief.
“After losing her husband, she gets a second chance in life,” Bertinelli says of the story.
Her character's next chapter begins with Leo, who offers a sense of comfort and companionship during her darkest moments. “Happiness comes from finding someone you care about who would walk down the path with you,” he tells her.
“It’s about love, it’s about loss,” Bertinelli adds, as the trailer shifts to lighter moments of Caroline smiling and dancing in the kitchen with Leo. “And finding that love with someone else again.”
