Four people were rescued from the river Seine after a bus collided with a parked car and tipped into the river.
The bus, driven by a trainee driver, was traveling through the town of Juvisy-sur-Orge, located southeast of Paris, on Thursday, April 30, when it veered off the road after hitting the parked vehicle and fell off the riverbank, AFP and Reuters reported. Officials said the struck car also fell into the water.
In addition to the driver, three passengers were on board the bus at the time of the crash.
Fortunately, all four individuals were rescued.
A spokesperson for Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM), which operates the bus system, said that the driver was in the final stages of her training program at the time of the crash and tested negative for drugs and alcohol.

A witness told the AFP she saw the bus drag the parked car into the water after it missed a right turn.
“Instead of veering to the right, the bus went straight on and dragged a car down with it,” the witness shared.
Another witness said he feared a bomb had gone off when he heard the loud crash.

In a statement, Juvisy-sur-Orge Mayor Lamia Bensara Reda said that the driver "lost control" of the vehicle "before plunging into the Seine and dragging a parked car" along with it.
"Everyone was quickly rescued and, thankfully, is safe and sound," Reda added.
In an update, Reda shared that the bus had successfully been pulled from the river and that the road has since reopened.
An investigation is ongoing.
