Jade Cargill had to roll with the punches after she faced one of her worst fears during her turn in the Queen of the Ring tournament.
On June 12, the WWE athlete competed in the event against Sol Ruca, Lyra Valkyria and Charlotte Flair when the platinum blonde wig she was wearing slipped off as she was thrown to the ground.
A video shared to X shows 34-year-old Cargill adjusting her hairpiece in place while still on the floor after the rough move. She later wrote on X, "Y'all. Biggest fear happened tonight and I think I'm still alive. My wig won though."

In an interview for the SoNicky podcast in January, Cargill spoke about some of the anxieties she has about wearing a wig in the ring.
"If my wig ever comes off in a new ring, I would probably lose my job. I would die. That's total embarrassment," she said as she explained why she pays a lot for a hairstylist.

Costume blunders are nothing new in the world of WWE. Only two months ago, Jacy Jayne took part in a triple-threat match between herself, Kendal Grey and Lola Vice, which was when Jayne's chest became exposed during a move that caused her top to slide down. A similar incident happened to Kiana James when she took part in another match this past March.
And because matches are broadcast, incidents like those typically cause matches to go black. When Ashley Fliehr squared off against Nia Jax in November 2025, she suffered from a faux pas that caused the live airing to cut out temporarily as she attempted to fix the mishap.

But the show must go on, even when mishaps have greater consequences. In 2025, Nikki Bella revealed on The Nikki & Brie Show, that her breast implant was dislocated when she was elbowed during the Monday Night Raw event in July of that year.
It's not just the ladies who have accidents. Recently, heavyweight boxer Jarrell Miller engaged in a fight against Kingsley Ibeh at New York's Madison Square Garden. At one point, he was punched several times, which caused his toupee to lift off his head and flap around after it became dislodged.
In a post-fight interview, Miller revealed that he lost his natural hair days before the bout, after shampooing with “ammonia bleach.”
“I get to my mama's house. She had some shampoo bottles under her table and I shampooed it,” said Miller, per Ring Magazine. “Yo, the s— was like ammonium bleach. I literally lost my hair like two days ago. So I called my man, he was like, ‘Let me slap that s— on, real quick!' Ibeh knocked that s— off."
