The FDNY is bringing sexy back!

Following a three-year hiatus, the FDNY Calendar of Heroes is slated to return in 2026. It will feature some of the department’s first responders who “embody peak fitness, resilience and strength,” the FDNY Foundation announced on its website Monday, March 24.

“We’re very excited to bring this back,” FDNY Foundation chairman Matthew J. DiLiberto said. “It was one of the most in-demand items we have had, and we have gotten a tremendous response already.”

FDNY Commissioner Robert S. Tucker added, “We are excited for the return of the FDNY Calendar of Heroes. The calendar presents an opportunity to highlight our Best and Bravest, while helping fundraise for the critical mission of the FDNY Foundation.”

“This new partnership is a great example of how public and private entities can work together to benefit the lifesaving mission of the FDNY,” Tucker continued.

According to the FDNY Foundation, the calendars will be available for a $25 donation with proceeds going back to the organization.

The price is a slight uptick from the 2019 FDNY Calendar of Heroes, which was sold for $15.95. The funds went towards training and education for fire department members, in addition to fire safety education.

The month-by-month organizer grew in popularity due to its steamy photos of firefighters, EMTs and paramedics, often with little clothing.

In 2015, the FDNY Calendar of Heroes made history by adding Danae Mines as the first woman to make the calendar in its 11-year history.

At the time, she was a 14-year veteran of the FDNY’s Engine Co. 60 in the South Bronx and happy to make her mark in March for Women’s History Month.

“We are so proud of Danae Mines and all of the women of the FDNY,” FDNY Foundation executive director Jean O’Shea said at the time. “And we are proud to be making history this way, by celebrating her accomplishments and all of the important accomplishments of the women of the Department with this fun annual tradition.”

For 2017, FDNY launched a double feature with 12 months of men and 12 months of women working with the department.

“I’m proud that the 2017 is the first calendar the Department has produced which truly represents all of our heroes,” said then-fire commissioner Daniel Nigro. “The men and women who risk their lives as Firefighters, EMTs and Paramedics every day to keep New York City safe.”

For Monday’s announcement, Firehouse Subs chief marketing officer Dena vonWerssowetz added: “Since our inception, we have been staunch supporters of firefighters who are committed to public service. This calendar will highlight the brave men, women and families who bring the heat every day and are an integral part of keeping the city safe.”
