MGK’s older daughter may complete this major achievement before he does.

On Thursday, Aug. 7, the Beyond the Lights lead, 35, revealed that his daughter Casie, 16, may be getting her license before he gets his. MGK, born Colson Baker, told host Jenna Bush Hager that his daughter intends to get her license in September after a small setback.

“Something about this family and driver’s licenses,” he told the former first daughter, 43. “She missed some mark, and now she can’t get it until September. Either way, she’ll get hers before mine. I still don’t have mine.”

MGK shares daughter Casie with his ex Emma Cannon. She was born in 2009 and has a close relationship with her famous dad.

Casie has walked the red carpet with MGK and appeared on his albums. Most recently, the father-daughter duo stepped out at the 2025 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, where Casie told PEOPLE that her dad encourages her to be “myself.”

“[He] definitely gives a lot of advice. He’s more like a hype man, though,” she said.

To celebrate his daughter’s 16th birthday, the singer shared a video on his Instagram Stories. In the sweet clip, MGK could be seen wearing a white cowboy hat, while his daughter matched in a pink sparkly cowboy hat.

Casie also wore a sash that read “Birthday girl” while she and MGK danced around with a toy horse to the tune of Stevie Wonder’s “Happy Birthday.”

This past April, MGK shared a video on his Instagram of himself and his daughter Casie as the two danced around and played with a DJ board at his birthday party.

The dad of two could be seen wearing a white T-shirt and a backwards white hat, bobbing his head as his daughter, who wore a black tube top and oversized biker jacket, moved back and forth.

“My daughter is a viiiiibe 💕,” Kelly wrote in his caption.
