A San Antonio family nurse practitioner and retired Army lieutenant colonel has been found after going missing when she failed to board a scheduled flight this week, authorities said.
Anita Elizabeth Gould, a 56-year-old mother of four, was located “alive in her vehicle and preliminarily appears that she suffered a medical episode,” according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office in Texas.
Gould had been taken to a local hospital, sheriff’s officials said. “We would like to thank everyone that shared her picture/information,” they said.
Gould had been last seen sometime between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. local time on Monday, Nov. 10 — the same day she was scheduled to fly to Georgia. The following day, around 6:30 a.m., Gould was reported missing, the sheriff’s office said in a previous statement.
Her daughter Kayla Miller said in a statement on Facebook that she was last heard from on Sunday, Nov. 9, around 9:57 p.m. “We are extremely worried,” Miller wrote in the post.
In a subsequent Facebook post, her daughter advised people to share their locations on electronic devices with loved ones.
“You never know when something like this will hit close to home or your home!” she wrote.
Miller could not immediately be reached for comment on Thursday, Nov. 13. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office did not return requests for further comment.
Gould retired as a lieutenant colonel from the U.S. Army after 30 years of service. She received multiple awards and medals, the highest of which was a Legion of Merit.
