Several Coldplay fans were left upset after the band was forced to reschedule two shows from their tour.
“Who’s going to refund my travel from scotland, hotel and train tickets?! Absolutely shocking!!!” one fan wrote after Coldplay informed concertgoers via Instagram Saturday about the last-minute cancellation.
Another social media user chimed in, “You have to be joking me!! We’ve paid for travel, accommodation and the rescheduled date I’m out of the country for on my honeymoon.
“I was taking my Mum who’s wanted to see you for YEARS as last years Christmas present and now I have to tell her it’s cancelled and we’ll be loosing out on money!”
A third fan sounded off over the inconvenience, writing, “So thousands of people have to reschedule time off work, train tickets, hotel bookings, pet care, do you realise how much we have saved up to come see you for 1 night please do not reschedule we will find a way.”
Coldplay explained in their announcement, though, that the scheduling change was due to a safety issue.
The “Yellow” hitmakers — fresh off of a headline-making cheating scandal involving two of their fans — said in their statement that their final concerts at Wembley Stadium had to be moved because of a “planned industrial action on the London Underground.”
Now, the Sept. 7 concert will take place on Sept. 6 and the Sept. 8 show will take place on Sept. 12.
“We’re very sorry for the inevitable disappointment, frustration and inconvenience that this situation causes,” Coldplay said.
They further explained, “Without a Tube service, it’s impossible to get 82,000 people to the concert and home again safely, and therefore no event licence can be granted for the nights of 7th and 8th September.”
Although the “A Sky Full of Stars” rock group has not responded to the backlash, many of their other fans came to their defense.
“Why the hell is almost every comment blaming the band for this? They aren’t responsible for the decision that was made by others,” said one netizen.
Another agreed, “The blaming comments made me so angry!
“I was recently at a concert with no public or signal available to get home, thankfully I’d booked a taxi but it was taking so long due to the traffic from all the other taxis that I luckily got a lift instead otherwise I would have been out until 2am still waiting… People really don’t get it….”
Coldplay reassured their fans that anyone unable to make it to the rescheduled shows would be issued a full refund and that those tickets would be available for sale to other concertgoers.
