A former Little Caesars employee has been arrested after allegedly breaking into one of the chain’s restaurants in North Carolina and selling pizzas to customers.
On Monday, Feb. 2, the Kinston Police Department shared in a post on Facebook that they responded to an incident of breaking and entering at a Little Caesars on Sunday.
Upon arrival, officials discovered that 41-year-old Jonathon Hackett, a former employee, unlawfully entered the restaurant on “two separate occasions.”
“During the first incident, Hackett entered the business, prepared pizzas, sold them to customers, and kept the proceeds for himself,” police said.

According to WITN, warrants say the man sold a total of 10 pizzas and pocketed $50 for himself.
Police said during the second incident, Hackett broke into the restaurant while employees were inside.
“Employees attempted to prevent Hackett from entering, which resulted in a physical altercation,” they added.

Hackett was treated at UNC Lenoir for injuries sustained during the altercation. He was then taken into custody and transported to the Lenoir County Jail, authorities said.
He is currently being held in the Lenoir County Jail on a number of charges.
The charges include breaking and/or entering (felony); obtaining property by false pretenses (felony), larceny after breaking and entering (felony) and breaking and entering (misdemeanor).
Hackett was also charged with violating the city’s curfew, which was in place due to the winter storm, and is facing a $50,000 bond, per WITN.
“It was very strange, you know, it’s nothing I’d ever heard of,” Kinston Police Chief Keith Goyette told the outlet. “It’s nothing we’ve ever seen, you know, in my 26 years of law enforcement here in Kinston. So, this was a head scratcher and a first for us.“
