Mid Credits:
It’s four years later – a four-year-old Franklin is reading children’s books on the sofa with mom, Sue Storm, and she asks H.E.R.B.I.E. to bring another book to read. H.E.R.B.I.E. (the derpy robot), in a funny moment, suggests “On the Origin of Species” by Charles Darwin. Sue dismisses the idea and grabs Dr. Seuss‘ “A Fly Went By” as the camera pans to where Sue is grabbing the book. There’s a “whooshing” sound in the background, and when she turns the corner to go back to Franklin, she senses something wrong. Then, you see Dr. Doom’s backside as he’s crouched before Franklin with his mask in his left hand. Franklin is reaching up, touching Doom’s face, which is covered with a hood. You never see the face – just the backside of Doom covered in his dark green cloak.
Then, there is a black screen with white letters saying “The Fantastic Four Will Return in Avengers:Doomsday.”
Post Credits:
At the end of the credits, there is a nice nod to creator Jack Kirby with a quote that says: “If you look at my characters, you will find me. No matter what kind of character you create or assume, a little of yourself must remain there.” – Jack Kirby
In the post credits scene – you see an old tv playing the animated intro of a Fantastic Four cartoon. It’s done in the classic retro Saturday morning cartoon style. And then you see H.E.R.B.I.E.’s robotic hand turning off the TV.
