Kelly Clarkson is throwing it back to the ’90s!
On Monday, Feb. 3, the hitmaker sang a rocking rendition of Harvey Danger’s hit “Flagpole Sitta” for the Kellyoke segment on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
During the performance – which was backed by Clarkson’s band — the singer and talk show host wore a T-shirt with “DREAM” written across it in blue and “82” on the back. She paired it with a denim maxi skirt and platform heels.

“I’m not sick but I’m not well/ And I’m so hot ’cause I’m in hell,” Clarkson, 42, belted out. “I’m not sick but I’m not well/ And it’s a sin to live so well.”
At the end of the performance, Clarkson confessed she messed up the edit.
“Man, I’ve been hearing that since I was a kid and I totally forgot the edit for a second. If you didn’t notice, it never happened,” she quipped.
“Flagpole Sitta” was Harvey Danger’s debut single in 1997 and was later featured on their album Where Have All the Merrymakers Gone?. In September, the All-American Rejects released a cover and music video to the iconic song.
In the past, Clarkson has covered songs from rock bands like The Killers, Smashing Pumpkins, Kings of Leon, and Foo Fighters for Kellyoke. Meanwhile, in November, she put a dreamy rock twist to Taylor Swift’s Midnights opening track “Lavender Haze.”

In January, Clarkson revealed that she started her own label while speaking with Keke Palmer about the actress-singer’s musical group DivaGurl.
“I’m so much older than you…and it’s my first time in my career and I just now started my own label and I’m putting out my own stuff,” the “Since U Been Gone” hitmaker said. “And I’ve had some good teams, like, to work with, but there is nothing like being that 10-year-old again and being excited and nobody saying ‘Oh, you should do this’ and ‘You should do this.'”
Palmer — who has had her own record label for “six or seven years” — then noted how “people don’t know how hard it is.”
Clarkson responded, saying, “Girl, I’m finding out. I’m putting together a music video, and I’m like, ‘Wait, I forgot to do what?'” She then added, “I just now started it. I started writing, and I was like, ‘Wait, how do I put this out now?’ And then, I was like ‘Well, I guess through me.'”
The “Piece by Piece” singer added: “I feel like I’ve earned it, so I’m excited. I think I’ve earned the moment.”
