A woman was left stunned after her mother asked her to find a babysitter for her baby because her new boyfriend “doesn’t like kids.”

On Reddit, the 25-year-old explained that she had her daughter around seven months ago and has been looking forward to the little one’s “first holiday season.”

“I was really excited to bring her to Thanksgiving at my mom’s house,” she writes. “But last week, my mom called me and said her boyfriend (who she’s been dating for less than a year btw) ‘doesn’t like kids’ and doesn’t want a baby ‘ruining the dinner.’ ”

“My mom actually suggested I find a babysitter so I could still come, without my own baby,” she adds.

The poster told her mom she would “absolutely not” be spending the holiday without her child, leading her mom to lash out.

“Now she’s upset and saying I’m ‘choosing my baby over family’ which… yeah? She’s my family!” she writes.

The woman feels “so betrayed” that her mom would “prioritize this guy over her grandchild,” which other Redditors agreed with.

“So yeah, time to start planning ALL holidays without your mother,” one user replied, as another noted that it might be time to go “low contact” with her mom.

“It sucks but it looks like it’s time to set up a new Thanksgiving tradition,” a third person added. “Find some friends who may want a friendsgiving, or contact other family about it and let them know what’s going on. Maybe someone else will host, and you can still be with family.”

“Someone is choosing a baby over family, and it’s not you!” a fourth chimed in.
