Multiple People Arrested Following Burger King Brawl Involving Employees

A fight involving employees at a Georgia Burger King has resulted in multiple arrests.

According to a statement from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, the incident in Augusta was initially reported as a shooting.

“Multiple units and EMS are on scene at Burger King, 3407 Deans Bridge Road for a large fight involving employees where it was reported that a gun had been used and shots were fired,’ began the announcement, which was shared on the Sheriff’s Office’s official Facebook page on Thursday, Jan. 22.

When police arrived on the scene, they found workers engaged in a physical altercation.

“Although no shots were fired multiple employees were fighting upon deputies arrival,” the post continued. “One employee did have a gun that he was pointing at another person.”

The post concluded, “All are being arrested and will all be transported to the Charles B Webster detention center. Charges to follow.”

Another brawl at a fast food restaurant that ended with arrests occurred at a Texas Whataburger in October.

According to information provided to PEOPLE by the San Antonio Police Department, the incident happened at around 3 a.m. on Oct. 5.

Officials were dispatched to the restaurant due to a reported assault in progress, and learned that the altercation began because of a food mix-up between two groups of people. 

Prior to police arrival, the incident escalated and involved seven people, ranging in age from 21 to 57, in the dining area of the restaurant. 

Per the police statement, all seven people involved were transported to Bexar County jail and booked on a charge of assault causing bodily injury.
