I am a sucker for a leather crossbody bag because they’re fashionable and functional. With the right option, I can throw all of my belongings inside and be out the door in minutes, without having to worry about carrying a heavy bag over my shoulder, on my forearm, or in my hand for hours.

I had the opportunity to try the Italian Leather Foldover Crossbody bag from Quince, and now it’s my go-to — just in time for fall. From the first day I used it, I was impressed by how much it could hold while still being light and easy to carry. When I find a bag I love, I stick with it, and this luxe one from Quince checked all of my boxes and exceeded my high standards.

With any new bag, I test the limits of how much I can fit inside without the sides bulging or the zippers breaking. I was immediately impressed and surprised by the storage space inside the purse, considering its compact size. Not only does it have a roomy pocket on the back and two inside, but the top flap also has a zipper, revealing a large secret pouch to store even more. 

I comfortably fit my phone, keys, Kindle, wallet, and a few tubes of lip gloss inside the bag. Plus, I put an entire bottle of perfume, a stick of deodorant, and a small tube of sunscreen in the hidden pocket, while still being able to close it comfortably. The magnetic closure and strong zippers held everything securely in place.

I’ve used purses that claim to have ample storage in the past, only for the strap to snap or the buckles to break after a few wears. I’m confident that won’t happen with this Quince bag that’s made from 100 percent Italian leather. The gold hardware is sturdy, and the strap is well-constructed and adjustable, which was another perk for me. I have a large chest, which can make it challenging to find a purse that fits comfortably across my frame without feeling like a seatbelt. The strap was easy to lengthen or shorten, allowing me to wear it over my shoulder if I wanted to.

I’m not alone in my newfound love for the Quince purse. One shopper praised it as “spacious” and said it’s their new “everyday bag.” Another person noted that it looks so similar to a designer version, the Lo & Sons Pearl Crossbody, which costs $298 — more than double the price of Quince’s. They said they switched to the Quince pick after their wallet was stolen from the Lo & Sons bag while traveling in Spain. The designer bag has snaps, rather than the secure zipper on the Quince crossbody, they said.
