TMZ’s Harvey Levin is revealing more details about the alleged ransom note for Savannah Guthrie‘s mom Nancy, 84, who is still missing.
If you don’t know, there are reports of two ransom notes. One was sent to various news organizations, and a second follow up was apparently sent. Savannah and her siblings were seemingly speaking directly with the captors in videos uploaded to her Instagram account.
It is said that the ransom was for $6 million, and the deadline has apparently come and gone. Harvey and his staff have been checking the Bitcoin address, and said they have not seen any deposit made.
On CNN on Monday evening (February 9), Harvey read one line of the first note aloud.

“I’ll read you one line from the ransom note we received. And they say, ‘It is in the best interest of everyone to have this completed as soon as possible,’” he said, “This was way back when the first ransom note was issued.”
He said the note also included: “There is a direct, stark statement about consequences if they didn’t get that money. It is chilling when you read that sentence. It is short, and to the point.”
The note also said, “She will be returned…back in 12 hours [to the Tuscon area]” if the ransom was paid.
He was asked about the second ransom note, and if contact was made with the family to offer proof of life.
“I don’t think there is direct contact. I read this first ransom letter as almost braggadocious — it’s like, ‘You’re not going to find me, the police aren’t going to be able to help you…don’t bother trying to find me. you’re not going to figure out who I am,” he mused.
He then said mused about the reason a possible second note that was sent: “there was something in that letter that addressed proof of life, that this person thought was necessary to get the $6 million.”
Another key detail was just clarified.
Nancy is still missing. Anyone who believes they have information that may assist investigators is asked to contact 1-800-CALL-FBI, the PCSD non-emergency line at 520-351-4900 or 88-CRIME.
