Prince Albert of Monaco marked the 20th anniversary of his accession to the throne with a party fit for royalty.

On July 19, the sovereign prince of Monaco, 67, stepped out at the Place du Palais for a community celebration commemorating the 20th anniversary of his royal reign. Prince Albert was joined by his wife, Princess Charlene, and their 10-year-old twins, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, for the festive event marking the milestone.

Prince Albert is the only son of the late Prince Rainier and Princess Grace (the American actress known as Grace Kelly before her marriage), and he succeeded his father as the sovereign of Monaco when Prince Rainier died at age 81 on April 6, 2005. A period of mourning followed, and Albert’s accession was celebrated on July 12, 2005, a date that has been linked to celebrations of his reign ever since.

As seen in a video that the Prince’s Palace shared to Instagram, Prince Albert and Princess Charlene, 47, were all smiles as they arrived with their children for the public pageantry on Saturday.

Albert and Charlene were joined at the royal courtyard by family members including his sisters Princess Caroline, Princess Stephanie and more.

Following remarks from Georges Marsan, the mayor of Monaco, Prince Albert gave a speech expressing his thanks to the Monégasque people. A close look showed that the royal honored his country by flag dressing with his red and white striped tie, interpreted as a nod to the colors of the national flag.

Prince Albert also gave his wife a sweet kiss on the cheek, a gesture of affection and a demure display of royal PDA.

Albert and Charlene, a former Olympic swimmer who was born in South Africa, married on July 1, 2011, a decade after meeting at a swimming competition, and they welcomed their twin children in December 2014.

The princely family (as Prince Albert, Princess Charlene and their twins are called) then embarked on a walkabout to greet the crowd who came to see them.

Princess Charlene seemed to click with one well-wisher in particular. Cameras captured Charlene snuggling a baby in a tender moment.
