Joe Wicks and Vernon Kay led the arrivals for this year’s Children In Need telethon ahead of the show going live tonight.

TV chef Joe, 40, was snapped as he wore a bright yellow tee while holding a Pudsey the Bear.

Vernon Kay, who is one of this year’s main hosts, was also spotted arriving at MediaCity in Salford, Manchester.

The 51-year-old looked dapper in a double breasted black suit as he smiled for the cameras.

He was joined by his co-star Paddy McGuinness who also looked smart in a velvet black dinner jacket. 

This year’s Children In Need telethon kicked off at 7pm on BBC One and will run throughout the night, scheduled to end at 10pm before BBC News.

Hosting the charity appeal are Mel Giedroyc, Rochelle Humes, Vernon Kay, Paddy McGuinness, Lenny Rush and Big Zuu.

The telethon opened to a special Simpsons themed clip as each host recreated the sitcom’s iconic opening titles. 

Throughout the night viewers will be treated to a variety of performances and sketches as organisers hope donations will flood in.

As the show got under way, Lord Alan Sugar faced a boardroom grilling from a group of budding entrepreneurs as they become his junior apprentices.

The Apprentice boss, 78, found himself under fire from a fearless group of mini magnates who weren’t afraid to ask the tough questions, from his famously grumpy streak to his millions, football loyalties, inheritance plans and workplace regrets.

But instead of his trademark boardroom scowl, the business mogul actually manages a smile, proving he might just be going a bit soft in his old age.

Viewers will also get a first look a the highly anticipated celebrity spin-off of The Apprentice, which is set to air this Christmas.

Radio 2’s Sara Cox is set to arrive at the Salford studio tonight, having completed her gruelling 135 mile challenge, ready to find out how much she’s raised after taking on the distance of five marathons across five days.

The heir to the throne urged her to ‘keep going’ and said he hoped she would get lots of hugs when she finishes her run this evening, as well as plenty of crumpets – her favourite food.

During tonight’s Children in Need, Bafta-winning TV chef Big Zuu will take to the Cbeebies Bedtime Stories chair for the first time alongside the legendary Pudsey.

The superhuman Gladiators Bionic, Giant, Nitro, Fire, Athena and Diamond will also meet their matches when they go up against a group of mini competitors.

BBC News presenter Sophie Raworth gets quite the shock as her news desk experiences a mini invasion.

Meanwhile, over in Walford, EastEnders star Shane Ritchie gets a surprise when he realises Albert Square has gone back in time with much younger and fresh-faced residents.

Also during the telethon audiences will see McFly’s Tom Fletcher perform live with his 11-year-old for the very first time. 

Eurovision 2025 entrants Remember Monday will also be performing as well as Lewis Capaldi.
