White House Calls Donald Trump 'Daddy' in New Cartoon Holiday Greeting

The White House released a new holiday cartoon featuring a drawing of Donald Trump on Wednesday, Dec. 3. 

In the image, Trump, 79, stands in front of the White House wearing a Santa Claus hat and giving a thumbs up sign surround by the message, “Daddy’s Home” written in large red letters.

The White House’s official Instagram account captioned the image, “Home for the holidays.”

The post garnered mixed reactions online, with some commenters calling it “so embarrassing.” 

“Imagine idolizing a president and calling him ‘daddy’ 🤮 have a father already thanks,” one person wrote. 

Another added, “I wish I could unsee this.” 

Other commenters supported the message and praised President Trump.

The release of the cartoon comes after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shared a cartoon image of Franklin the Turtle firing a bazooka at a boat on Sunday, Nov. 30.

The image, published on X, shows Franklin firing the weapon from a helicopter while draped in U.S. flags on the cover of book titled Franklin Targets Narco Terrorists.

“For your Christmas wish list,” Hegseth, 45, wrote on the post, which was shared amid the criticism of ongoing U.S. military attacks on boats in the Caribbean.

Franklin publisher Kids Can Press condemned the image in a statement posted on its social media pages. on Monday, Dec. 1, writing that “Franklin the Turtle is a beloved Canadian icon who has inspired generations of children and stands for kindness, empathy, and inclusivity,”

“We strongly condemn any denigrating, violent, or unauthorized use of Franklin’s name or image, which directly contradicts these values.”

Trump’s holiday post also followed the debut of first lady Melania Trump’s 2025 White House display based around the theme “Home Is Where the Heart Is.” 

The decorations were intended to capture “the heartfelt character of America within the People’s House,” according to a Dec. 1, release.

The first lady worked with designer Hervé Pierre to let her vision come to life. The classic decorations also feature non-traditional decor, including blue butterflies and Lego portraits of U.S. presidents.
