I love clothes, but sometimes, I don’t feel like they love me back. At 5’8 and a size 20/22, finding the right fit is challenging — especially in dresses. Linen has always been one of my go-to fabrics for summer, especially living in Atlanta’s hot and humid climate, and this dress takes my love for the material and amplifies it. While some of my linen pieces feel scratchy, this one is ultra soft and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. It’s also lightweight and breathable, so even on the most humid days, it never feels like the dress is glued to me by the soupy air. While it does wrinkle, that’s just the nature of linen, and I personally like the lived-in, laid-back vibe it adds.

The silhouette is also on my list of favorite things. The dress glides over my body, barely touching my curves, but because it has vertical pleating in the back, there’s some shape, and it never looks boxy. The sleeveless design is wide, so I can wear my normal undergarments and don’t have to worry about straps showing. While there’s no stretch, the swing skirt provides plenty of room, so even when sitting down, it doesn’t feel tight over my butt, hips, and thighs. Plus, it’s available in a wide range of sizes, from XS through 3X.

This swing dress is packed with charming details, too. The pintuck pleating at the neck adds texture and provides shape, and the buttons stand out against the red shade, though it comes in a dozen other colors and prints. Plus, the buttons are functional, so I can customize how deep I want the neckline. As a major bonus, the side seams have deep pockets that are large enough to fit my keys and smartphone. Overall, the dress has a minimalist feel, and it makes styling a breeze. I’ve worn it with a cardigan on a cooler evening, sneakers for walking around downtown areas, and heels during a baby shower.
