- Lady Gaga recreated some of her most iconic looks in her new “Runway” music video
- The Parris Goebel-directed music video features avant-garde fashion and nods to the movie’s fictional magazine Runway

Lady Gaga is recreating some of her most iconic looks in her latest music video.
On Monday, April 27, the singer-songwriter, 40, released the music video for her song “Runway” — the first piece of music to be revealed as part of the Devil Wears Prada 2 soundtrack.
While the Parris Goebel-directed music video has no shortage of avant-garde fashion worn by both Gaga and her collaborator Doechii, many fans have noticed that some of the looks are loosely inspired by some of the fashion icon's most memorable ensembles.
At one point, the “Poker Face” singer dons a sparkly blue blazer and matching flowy skirt paired with a yellow wig and reflective blue headpiece. And fans on social media were quick to compare the ensemble to one she wore in her 2010 “Telephone” music video, which consisted of a shorter yellow wig and an elaborate blue headpiece with a phone attached to it.

Fans also pointed out that another look Gaga wore in the music video, a porcelain top that matched the delicate teapot in her hands, seemed to be a nod to her 2009 performance with Pet Shop Boys at the Brit Awards.
Indeed, she wore a custom-made China porcelain teacup-printed top and matching headpiece from Alchemy Studios during her special guest performance at the time, along with a matching pair of briefs by Haus of Gaga.
In addition to the subtle references hidden in Gaga's looks throughout the fast-paced sequence of outfit changes taking place on a fabulous runway, she and Doechii, 27, both stun in custom Gaurav Gupta Couture bodysuits that feature more than 3,000 crystals and took a team of over 20 artisans around 800 hours to create.

“These looks were designed as a second skin,” Gupta said in a press release. “With Gaga and Doechii, the idea was to create something immersive and unapologetic, where couture becomes both armour and identity.”
While Gaga wears a pearl-toned bodysuit that is densely hand-embellished with crystals and pearls that create a high-shine surface that beautifully reflects light, Doechii dons a black bodysuit that features spikes and metal studs layered over a base of sequins and crystals.
The video also makes subtle nods to the upcoming movie, with one of the opening sequences featuring Emily Blunt's character, Emily Charlton, on a magazine cover and another featuring Gaga posing in front of a giant custom Thom Solo red crocodile heel with a pitchfork on the end of it.
