Marcello Hernández and Kevin Hart are playfully roasting each other’s style.
While appearing on the Today show on Monday, July 20, to promote their movie 72 Hours, the comedy duo took the opportunity to tease each other’s outfits.
At one point during the interview, Hernández, 28, poked fun at the polo shirt that Hart, 47, was wearing.
“This morning is a perfect example because Kevin’s waking up in the morning going, ‘What shirt should I wear? Should I wear a normal shirt like a human being? Or should I put on this weird rust and silver combo. It looks like I’m golfing but also I’m the matre d of a steakhouse,’ ” joked the Saturday Night Live star.
Hart then quipped back, “Why don’t you ever wear socks? Why don’t we talk about that?’”
Hernández replied, “Because I’m Dominican.”
“That’s Dominican,” he added as he stretched out his foot in front of Hart.
The comedian continued, “I don’t need to wear socks. I’m hot, I’m hot.”
Hernández recently took his trademark wit to the 2026 ESPYS stage as host of the Wednesday, July 15 ceremony.
During his monologue, he took a jab at last year’s ESPYS host, controversial comedian Shane Gillis.

“I also want to shout out last year’s host, Shane Gillis. He’s watching from home like a true American,” he said. “On his couch, drinking a beer while a Hispanic guy does his job.”
The camera panned to a reaction from Hart, who nodded and smiled after Hernández joked about Gillis, who was fired from Saturday Night Live hours after the show announced his casting after Variety reported a clip of him using an anti-Asian slur at the time.

Elsewhere in his monologue, Hernández said, “This is the only award show where none of the nominees were bullied in high school,” before he poked fun at Bill Belichick, 74, and his 25-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson’s age difference. “In 1973, hockey players didn’t wear helmets, basketball had no three-point line, and in 1973, Bill Belichick was the age his girlfriend is now,” Hernández joked.
Gillis — who struggled for laughs during his monologue at the 2025 ESPYS — joked at the time: “A bookie is what Bill Belichick reads to his girlfriend before bedtime,” Gillis said before saying the name of one fictitious book, “The Little Engine Who Could But Needed a Pill First.”
72 Hours is out on Friday, July 24.
