In August 2024, Morris opened up to PEOPLE about her divorce and shared how it's affected Hayes, saying, "I feel like there's so many emotions when you have a child with somebody and the relationship doesn't pan out and you just have to put on a brave face and a consistent face for your baby."
"I think he's gone through a lot and there's, I'm sure, a lot of confusion because he's so little," she continued. "But also, I feel like Ryan and I have done a really great job at just being great parents for him."

In a recent TikTok video, the "My Church" singer got candid about parenting her son and how she views gender roles, detailing how she got into a heated exchange with a male acquaintance at a party, who told her "these boys need to toughen up anyways."
The singer took offense to his comments, saying that it takes her son a lot to cry, but he's also "extremely gentle," and loves baseball, musicals, and making friendship bracelets.
“My son can emotionally regulate himself better than this man could," Morris said. "My son can say like, ‘I'm frustrated.' Or if he's overwhelmed, he can like go take a beat in his room. He does that for himself without me even needing to step in now, he just knows how to do it.”
