A woman survived a serious car collision with an alligator in Florida.

Maslin Kurtz of Myakka City, Fla. was injured in the collision, which occurred on March 5, according to a GoFundMe created by her friends to assist with her medical expenses.

"The sweet couple that rescued me out of my crushed car, and prayed with me as we waited for medical help," a screenshot from Kurtz' Instagram Stories featured in the GoFundMe description reads. "I thank God for y'all. Truly a miracle I'm here today. Could not have done it without your help."

In the photo, Kurtz appears to wear a medical brace around her abdomen as she sits on a couch between the unidentified couple who allegedly rescued her at the scene.

"Due to hitting an alligator, she rolled her car and was in the ICU for a few days, dealing with a fractured shoulder, sternum, and spine," a GoFundMe description from her friends reads. "By the grace and mercy of God, she is now at home and recovering without the need for any surgeries! Praise God!"

"Maslin is truly such an incredible, loving, and talented person filled with so much love and joy," the description of Kurtz, 25, reads. "She is a light and friend to everyone she comes in contact with. She is so dearly loved and we are so thankful for all the angels surrounding her!"

As of press time, the GoFundMe has raised nearly $7,000 of its $9,000 goal.

PEOPLE has reached out to Kurtz and the Myakka City Police Department regarding details of the incident.
